Importance of salah.

The Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Teach your children to pray when they are seven and punish them for neglecting it when they reach the age of ten.” [Abu Dawud]

Be punctual with your salah, get into the habit of praying at the earliest hour, teach this to your children, and they will be more than likely to be punctual in everything else they do. Make prayer times a family event: even if children are not of age, let them join in or sit quietly; so that when salah becomes obligatory upon them, they are firm and ready to speak to the King of kings with full concentration

Once our Prophet asked his Companions:

- What do you say? If there is a river in front of the house of one you and if that person takes a bath in that river five times a day, would there be any filth left on him?

The Companions said:

- There would not be any filth left on him. Our Prophet said:

- “Praying five times a day is just like that. Allah forgives our sins through our five daily ritual prayers.”
